About NATRA Blog

This page is meant for folks to post their thoughts on the Saturday group run. I (Neil) will post a blurb about who showed up and where it was held. From there, I hope that other runners will share their thoughts since we often have different experiences on the same run. Enjoy!

33rd Annual War Dog Run

(Newbies raise their hands)

The 33rd edition of War Dog took place on one of the warmest, calmest most leaf brilliant fall days ever! 15 War Dogs including 3 newbies (Joe, Chris, and Jared) showed up to the starting tree to hear Founding Father Rusty Knott once again recant the story of War Dog. I was lucky enough to have Mark T. show me the small plaque honoring Founding Father Tom Hensley who passed in 1999.  Those that made it to the top noted the extreme calmness and spectacular explosion of foliage colors in the Inner Basin. Those that stuck around for the 3 hour crowd were treated to Blue Moon beers and tales of Flagstaff running history! Cheers to all for keeping this tradition alive!!!  See slide show below for the rest of the story!
