Nine runners set off from Buffalo Park following the same route as the 50km/50mile ultra-runners that started a few hours earlier. Their route was very well marked!
Not surprisingly, the hill directly behind Buffalo Park was the worst spot with wet clay and mud -- otherwise the trails were in great shape. No dust, only a little water, and excellent traction. And the sound of water dripping down the rock faces while running up Oldham was a special treat.
At the cutoff from Oldham to Rocky Ridge, Mark and DavidMc decided to keep heading uphill while Susan and David, Mackenzie, Heather, Amber, Stephanie, and first timer Sarah followed the standard route back to Buffalo Park.
We reconvened at Kickstand Kafe for apres-run caffeine and enjoyed the warm sunny weather. It won't last too much longer. (Thanks to David Blanchard for this post!)
About NATRA Blog
This page is meant for folks to post their thoughts on the Saturday group run. I (Neil) will post a blurb about who showed up and where it was held. From there, I hope that other runners will share their thoughts since we often have different experiences on the same run. Enjoy!
